PixSnipPrivacy Policy
The short version: PixSnip does not collect, store, transmit or share any data. No image ever leaves your device.
What PixSnip does
PixSnip is a Chrome extension that captures a region, an element or the full page of the tab you are viewing and produces a PNG image. The image is shown in a preview tab, saved to your downloads folder, or copied to your clipboard, depending on your settings. All of this happens locally inside your browser.
Data we collect
None. PixSnip has no servers, no accounts, no analytics and no crash reporting. The extension makes no network requests of any kind.
Data stored on your device
- Settings (default action, element padding, filename pattern, ask-where-to-save) are stored with
chrome.storage.sync. If you are signed in to Chrome, Chrome may sync these settings between your own devices; PixSnip never reads them from anywhere but your browser. - Recent captures are kept briefly in the extension's own IndexedDB so the preview tab can display them, and are pruned automatically after one hour or when you close the preview.
- A capture-in-progress marker is kept in
chrome.storage.sessionfor the duration of a capture so the page can be restored if the extension is interrupted. It is cleared when the capture finishes.
Permissions and why they are needed

PixSnip requests no host permissions, so it cannot read or modify web pages unless you explicitly invoke it on the current tab.
Third parties
No data is shared with third parties because no data is collected. This website loads the Inter font from Google Fonts; the extension itself loads nothing from the network.
Children
PixSnip does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page with an updated date.
